The memorization of a space, explored individually or collectively, is often apprehended through drawing. It is an externalization process that engages cognitive and heuristic aspects of the mental map. More generally it requires thinking skills and creativity specific to drawing. Everyone, to varying degrees, is likely to use drawing, not only for the purpose of recollection, but also for the purpose of exploration and communication. Spatial cognition and geography have long used this simple process which is widely shared and easy to put into place. If individual memorization processes are today the subject of numerous studies, few research studies have focused on the processes and construction of strategies drawing, particularly concerning memorization by several people.
In this context, many questions can be addressed:

How are the stages in the development of the drawing carried out?
What are the contexts and supports for its experimentation?
How do the temporalities in the apprehension and memorization of the explored spaces cross the temporalities in the realization of the drawing?
What role do spatial and temporal memorization play in the experience of explored space and drawn space?
How is the process of symbolization carried out in the drawing?
What is the proportion between conventional symbolization and symbolization specifically designed for the occasion?
How do we apprehend the "precision" of the drawing? For what purposes? According to what criteria?
What role do trials, "errors" and/or modifications in the construction of the drawing?
In the case of a group drawing, how much of it is attributable to each participant?
What are the drawing strategies according to whether the space was apprehended in a fixed or mobile way?
How does the planning of the drawing unfold between the present of the drawing and the future of the actions to be carried out?

La mémorisation d'un espace, exploré individuellement ou collectivement, est souvent appréhendée par le dessin. C'est un processus d'extériorisation qui engage les aspects cognitifs et heuristiques de la carte mentale. Plus généralement, il sollicite des capacités de réflexion et de créativité propre au dessin. Chacun, à des degrés divers, est susceptible de le mettre en œuvre dans un but, non seulement de remémoration, mais aussi à des fins d’exploration et de communication. La cognition spatiale, la géographie, utilisent de longue date ce procédé simple, toujours utilisé, largement partagé et facile à mettre en place. Si les processus de mémorisation individuelle font désormais l’objet de nombreuses études, peu de recherches se sont penchées sur les processus et stratégies du dessin, et ce particulièrement lorsqu’il s’agit d’une mémorisation à plusieurs.
Dans ce contexte, de nombreuses questions sont susceptibles d’être abordées :

Comment s’effectuent les étapes dans l’élaboration du dessin ?
Quels sont les contextes et les supports de son expérimentation ?
Comment les temporalités dans l’appréhension et la mémorisation des espaces explorés croisent-elles les temporalités dans la réalisation du dessin ?
Quelle est la part entre la mémorisation spatiale et temporelle dans l’expérience de l’espace exploré et l’espace dessiné ?
Comment s’effectue le processus de symbolisation dans le dessin ?
Quelle est la proportion entre une symbolisation conventionnelle et une symbolisation conçue pour l’occasion ?
Comment appréhender la « précision » du dessin ? Pour quels objectifs ? Selon quels critères ?
Quelle est la part des essais, des « erreurs », des modifications dans la construction du dessin ?
Dans le cas du dessin à plusieurs, quelle est la part attribuable à chacun des participants ?
Quelles sont les stratégies du dessin selon que l’espace ait été appréhendé de façon fixe ou mobile ?
Comment se déploie la planification du dessin entre le présent du tracé et le futur des actions à réaliser ?
